Direct Sales jewelry companies are companies that sell their jewelry through independent representatives as opposed to using retail stores or selling direct to the customer.
With most of these companies representatives pay a fee to get started with the company and/or they purchase a start up kit that has jewelry and the necessary paperwork and catalogs needed to get a jewelry business started. These start-up fees and kits can range from a couple hundred dollars on up to thousands of dollars.
Jewelry is then sold through catalogs and/or through in-home parties. Typically the representative is given a discount ranging from 20-50% of the retail cost of the jewelry.
